Applications:
Ready-to-use insect smoke generator for the control of crawling insects, house flies and mosquitoes. For use indoors only in areas not subject to wet cleaning (i.e. kitchens and bathrooms), such as lofts, garages and other indoor storage areas.
Rate of application (3.5g):
Flies: apply at a rate of one generator per: 120m³ for house flies and mosquitoes.
Cockroaches and crawling insects: 7m³ for cockroaches and crawling insects. As a rough guide to the number of fumers required, refer to the following :
Room size: 10mx10m (4 units)
Room size: 20mx10m (8 units)
Room size: 40mx10m (16 units)
Directions for use:
For best results, fumigate in the late afternoon and leave the building for a minimum period of 2 hours.
1. Consider how many fumers you need for the room to be treated (consult ‘Rate of application’). Heavy Infestations may require more than one application. 2. Clear people and animals, including fish, from the room before use.
3. Place canister(s) spaced out on the floor surface on a heat-resistant surface, e.g. a plate on top of a sheet of aluminium foil 50cm x 50cm. IMPORTANT: THIS PRODUCT MAY EMIT SOME SPARKS UPON IGNITION. CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN WHEN LIGHTING THE PRODUCT. 4. Make the area to be fumigated as smoke tight as possible by closing all windows etc.
5. Open canister(s) and light the fuse on the canister furthest from your exit point first, then light the next fumer and move towards your exit point. Close the door on exit, it is not necessary to seal the door with tape.
6. Leave for at least 2 hours but preferably overnight and then ventilate the room thoroughly.
7. For severe infestations, fumigate 3 times at 5-to-7-day intervals.
NOTE: This device may trigger the treatment of smoke alarms/detectors. Remove batteries or cover duringApply only in areas that are not liable to submersion or becoming wet, i.e. protected from rain, floods and cleaning water. Do not contaminate foodstuffs, eating utensils or food contact surfaces. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. For use only in loft and garage spaces and other similar indoor storage areas not subject to wet cleaning. Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after use. Cover all water storage tanks before application. All bats are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Before treating any structure used by bats, consult Natural England, Scottish Natural Heritage or The Countryside Council for Wales. Hazardous to bees. Exclude all persons and animals during treatment. Ventilate treated areas thoroughly when the smoke has cleared before re-entry. Do not contaminate waterbodies or watercourses with chemicals or used containers. The active substance in the product is known to develop resistance in some organisms (i.e. the product becomes less effective if used frequently). The product should be used with care and in accordance with the instructions for use in order to limit the development of resistance in other organisms.
Medical advice:
Inhalation: Move the affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. Ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting. Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing. Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately. Continue to rinse.
Resistance Management:
Where possible, application treatments should be combined with non-chemical measures such as with hot air or steam, laundering infested linen in hot water followed by a hot tumble drying, freezing of small items and vacuuming. Product labels have been carefully developed to ensure the most effective control of the pest. The label should at all times be carefully read and adhered to. Full recommended rates of the product should always be used to ensure the most effective control of the pest. Good coverage of the target area is required to ensure the best possible chance of contact and subsequent control of the pest. Complete elimination of insect pests should be attempted in infested areas. Where possible, applications should always be made against the most susceptible stages in the pest life cycle. Where an extended period of control is required, treatments should be alternated with products with different modes of action. Levels of effectiveness should be monitored, and instances of reduced effectiveness should be investigated for possible evidence of resistance.
Warning
Harmful if swallowed. It may cause an allergic reaction. Very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.
Precautions:
Keep out of reach of children. Read carefully and follow all instructions. Avoid breathing fumes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE/doctor if you feel unwell. IF ON SKIN: wash with plenty of water. Rinse mouth. If skin irritation or rash occurs, Get medical advice/attention. Dispose of contents/containers in accordance with national regulations.
Professional users: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing – face protection is not required as the predicted exposure to users is within acceptable limits without PPE. The COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2002 (as amended) apply to the use of this product at work. Avoid excessive contamination of coveralls.
